"The happy state is a creative state…”

-Carl Jung, CW 6, para. 425

My counseling practice focuses on assisting people of all ages as they reorient to the world after experiencing a sexual assault, attachment disruption, or other traumatic incident.

With training rooted in Jungian, attachment, person centered, and feminist theory, human development, the expressive arts, play therapy, mindfulness, and other evidenced based, trauma informed modalities, I create space for clients to choose various mediums to explore, express, and evaluate their healing process.

I earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Art Therapy, a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision and hold further credentials of TN Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health Services Provider (LPC-MHSP), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S). I responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by bringing my practice completely online for the time being, also becoming an Out-of-State Telehealth provider in Florida (#222), and a Temporary Registered Telehealth Health Care Provider - LPC in Kentucky (#264197).

For over 2 decades, I have served hundreds of people in a variety of settings. I now offer counseling, play therapy, supervision, and consultation services through my private practice on a limited basis. I am passionate about de-stigmatizing mental health treatment, normalizing and understanding stress responses, and supporting resiliency.

I am currently serving as Core Faculty at the University of the Cumberlands in the Counseling Department, teaching, conducting research, writing, and presenting. My areas of focus include creativity, professional identity development, sandplay, play therapy, the expressive arts, Jungian theory, religious and spiritually integrated practices, as well as neuro- and trauma informed care.
